Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 2, 2026  |  Effective Date: June 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how KUE, operated by KUE LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use the KUE mobile application (“App”) available on iOS and Android. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

01

Information We Collect

When you register or use the KUE App, we collect the following categories of information:

A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Phone Number — Required for OTP-based registration and login. Your phone number serves as your unique account identifier.
  • First & Last Name — Required during initial profile setup.
  • Email Address — Optional. Collected during profile setup and used for account communications.
  • Profile Picture — Optional. A single image up to 5 MB uploaded by you.
  • Referral Source — How you heard about KUE (Friend, Social Media, Website, or Other).
  • Venue Claim Information — If you submit a venue claim as an owner or manager: business email, business phone, job title, business name, business address, Yelp link, utility bill images, and business license images.
  • Reviews & Ratings — Text content (up to 500 characters), star ratings (1–5), and up to 5 images you upload for a venue review.
  • Wait Time Submissions — Estimated wait times you submit for venues after GPS-verified check-in.

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • GPS / Location Data — Collected when you grant location permission. Used for check-in validation, venue proximity verification, wait-time submission eligibility, and proximity-based notifications. Location is continuously tracked while checked in at a venue.
  • Device Information — Device model, operating system version (iOS 13+ or Android 11+), and app version, collected via Firebase Crashlytics.
  • Usage & Analytics Data — Session length, screen views, feature interactions, and custom events tracked via Firebase Analytics (see Section 4).
  • Crash & Error Reports — Stack traces, non-fatal exceptions, and crash logs collected automatically by Firebase Crashlytics to maintain app stability.
  • Booking Click Logs — When you tap “Book Now,” we log the venue ID, platform (OpenTable, Resy, or other), timestamp, and your user ID.

C. Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not store search queries or browsed venue history.
  • We do not collect payment card details directly — all subscription payments are processed by Stripe, which has its own privacy policy.
  • We do not collect data from users under the age of 13.
02

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

Account Management

Creating and managing your user account, OTP verification, single-device login enforcement, and profile editing.

Wait Time Services

Validating your physical presence at a venue via GPS, enabling wait-time submissions, displaying crowdsourced and BestTime.App fallback data.

Venue Operations

Processing venue claim requests, managing monthly Stripe subscriptions ($19.99/venue/month), enabling venue owners to update wait times, operating hours, and booking links.

Notifications

Sending proximity alerts, wait-time updates for bookmarked venues, claim status notifications, and contribution prompts based on your location and activity.

Safety & Integrity

Detecting mock locations, flagging suspicious wait-time submissions (e.g., submissions outside 500m radius, duplicate submissions, outlier values), and logging suspicious activity for admin review.

App Improvement

Analyzing Firebase Analytics events and Crashlytics reports to fix bugs, improve performance, and understand feature usage patterns.

03

Location Data & GPS Tracking

Location data is central to KUE’s core functionality. Here is exactly how we use it:

Check-In Verification
You must be within 500 meters of a venue to check in and submit a wait time. The app continuously tracks location after check-in to confirm you remained on-site for at least 3 minutes.
Proximity Notifications
If you are within 2 miles of a venue with updated wait times or your bookmarked venue has new data, you may receive a push notification. High-traffic alerts are sent if more than 5 venues in your area are busy simultaneously.
Base Location
If you deny GPS permission, you may set a manual base location to browse venues. Without GPS, you cannot submit wait times, write reviews, check in, bookmark venues, or claim a venue.
Background Tracking
On iOS, background GPS tracking may stop after 10–12 minutes of app inactivity due to OS-level restrictions. On iOS, location tracking stops entirely if you force-quit the app.
Mock Location Detection
The app checks for mock/fake location providers. If detected, wait-time submissions are blocked and you will see: “Location verification failed. Please disable mock location settings.”

We do not sell or share your raw GPS coordinates with third parties for advertising purposes. Location data is used solely for in-app functionality described above.

04

Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics

The KUE App integrates two Firebase services operated by Google LLC:

A. Firebase Analytics

Firebase Analytics automatically collects baseline metrics including Daily Active Users (DAU), Monthly Active Users (MAU), session length, screen views, and user retention. In addition, we have implemented the following custom events:

Event NameTriggered WhenParameters Tracked
wait_time_submittedUser submits a wait timevenue_id, venue_category, wait_time_value
venue_detail_viewedUser opens a venue detail screenvenue_id, venue_category
claim_initiatedUser starts the venue claim processvenue_id
search_performedUser executes a searchsearch_query, result_count
submission_blockedWait time submission is rejectedblock_reason
book_now_clickedUser taps “Book Now”venue_id, venue_name, platform, timestamp, user_id, user_name

Firebase Analytics data is viewable only by the KUE team via the Firebase console. It is not displayed inside the app or admin panel.

B. Firebase Crashlytics

Crashlytics automatically captures crash reports to help us maintain app stability. Data collected includes:

  • App crashes and the exact cause
  • Non-fatal exceptions and errors
  • Full stack traces for each error
  • Device model, OS version, and app version context
  • Crash rates per app release version

Crashlytics data is used solely for debugging and improving app stability. No custom reporting dashboards beyond the standard Crashlytics console are implemented in the current scope.

For more information on how Google processes this data, please review Google’s Privacy Policy and Firebase’s Privacy Documentation.

05

Third-Party Services

KUE integrates with the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

Stripe
Payment Processing

Handles all recurring subscription payments ($19.99/venue/month) for venue owners. KUE does not store credit card details. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to all payment data.

Google Places API
Venue Data

Used to source and maintain venue listings including names, addresses, coordinates, images, phone numbers, operating hours, and website links across South Florida.

BestTime.App
Wait Time Fallback

Provides estimated baseline and real-time wait time data when crowdsourced submissions are insufficient. Called on-demand when users open venue detail pages.

OpenTable & Resy
Booking Affiliates

When you tap “Book Now” for a venue with an OpenTable or Resy booking URL, KUE automatically appends KUE’s affiliate tracking ID before redirecting you outside the app.

Firebase (Google LLC)
Analytics & Crash Reporting

Provides usage analytics and crash reporting as described in Section 4. Data is processed by Google in accordance with Google’s privacy terms.

06

Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers — We share data with Stripe (payments), Firebase/Google (analytics & crash reporting), Google Places API (venue data), and BestTime.App (wait time fallback) solely to operate the App.
  • Venue Claim Review — Admin staff reviews your submitted claim documents (business email, phone, license, utility bill) to approve or reject venue claims.
  • Legal Compliance — We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of KUE users or the public.
  • Business Transfer — In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you via the App or email prior to such transfer.
  • Public Activity — Your submitted reviews (name, rating, text, images) and wait time submissions are visible to other App users. Reviews cannot be deleted by you once posted; only an admin can remove a review.
  • Our data may be processed or stored outside the United States by third-party service providers, including Firebase and Google, as part of the infrastructure supporting the KUE App. By using the App, you acknowledge and consent to the transfer of your data to servers located outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws than those in your jurisdiction.
07

Data Retention & Deletion

Account Deletion
When you delete your account: all active Stripe subscriptions are cancelled, all claimed venues are unclaimed, all pending claim requests are rejected, and your phone number, name, and email are replaced with anonymized dummy text so the phone number can be reused for a new account. Wait time submissions, reviews, and bookmarks are retained in anonymized form.
Inactivation by Admin
If your account is inactivated by an admin, you are immediately logged out, claimed venues are unclaimed, subscriptions are stopped, and pending claim requests are auto-rejected. Your phone number cannot be reused while inactivated.
Notification Data
Notifications are retained indefinitely and cannot be deleted by users. No read/unread status is maintained.
Crash & Analytics Logs
Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics data is retained per Google’s standard data retention policies. Contact Google for details on Firebase data deletion.
08

Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

The KUE App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App requires phone number verification (OTP) and is designed for adults and venue operators in the United States.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@knowkue.com. We will promptly delete such information upon verification.

In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

You may request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., completing transactions, security purposes, legal obligations).

Right to Opt-Out of Sale

KUE does not sell your personal information to third parties. However, you may contact us to confirm this at any time.

Right to Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights, including by denying services, charging different prices, or providing a different level of service.

To exercise your California privacy rights, contact us at support@knowkue.com with the subject line “CCPA Privacy Request.” We will respond within 45 days of receiving a verifiable consumer request. We may extend this period by an additional 45 days where necessary and will notify you of the extension.

10

Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmitted between the App and our servers.
  • OTP-based authentication with no stored passwords
  • Single-device login enforcement to prevent unauthorized access
  • Mock location detection to prevent fraudulent submissions
  • Rate limiting on wait-time submissions (maximum 5 venues per day per user; 1 submission per venue per hour)
  • Suspicious activity logging for admin review

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

11

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page
  • Notify registered users via in-app notification
  • Display an updated version in the App’s built-in webview under Settings > Privacy Policy

Your continued use of the KUE App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
